JGM agency provides support for Tottington Centre
JGM provided the new branding, logo and name for the recently refurbished Tottington Centre, which opened its doors last week.
The new Centre is located in the Grade II listed former Tottington Library and provides local people with a community book sharing service; the ability to hire rooms and conference facilities and use the space for local events. The Centre is also planning to open a tea room in the near future to add to the facilities and fundraising opportunities.
JGM waived their fee for their Art Director, Paul Wojtas, to work on the project. Paul, who has a creative portfolio ranging from global pharmaceuticals to Universities and the public sector, produced five different branding and name options for the Friends of Tottington Library Committee to consider.
Peter Hough, JGM’s Digital Director, said: “The Friends of Tottington Library committee selected the chosen branding and colours as they felt these complemented the classic Georgian architecture of the building and reflected the new life and energy of the project. They also wanted to move away from the term ‘community centre’ as they felt this would alienate local businesses, which will benefit from being able to hire out the new rooms and conference facilities.”
In addition to its work on branding, JGM will also be providing media support to encourage more local residents to help raise the £22,000 a year required to maintain the Centre through regular fundraising events.
The Friends of Tottington Library committee (FOTL) have organised a full calendar of fundraising events to help raise the money required to maintain the Centre and community library. There will also be a £2.50 membership charge.
Peter continued: “As a parent with young children, a local library facility is hugely important to our family. By supporting Tottington Centre and creating its new look we hope that more local residents and businesses will get involved help raise the money required to ensure that it is maintained and well used.”
